small-photo_iomba-alumni-dayMy background is in organisational learning and managing of knowledge using information and communication technologies. I have created this blog in order to integrate what I have done and am doing in a way that is meaningful and inspiring. I am interested in how people and technologies are brought together for communication and learning, nowadays increasingly via Web 2.0 (or shall we say Web 3.0, Web 4.0 …?). So far, I have approached this mainly from within the context of International Organisations. I have also looked into how this can help corporate social integration and partnerships.

In the context of the increasingly complex world in which we live in today, organisations, and any form of organisation, or system (be it person, project team, partnership, company, entreprise, non-profit organisation, governmental organisation) are facing the challenge of becoming more participatory and less hierarchical, in order to be in a position to know what they need to know and do something about it. They, in fact we all have our responsibility towards achieving more sustainable, and just, life on our planet. Knowing our responsibility is not enough, being able to fulfil it, and fulfilling it, simply is.

I believe this can happen through distributed leadership in and among organisations, as well as in society. I do not maintain I have ‘the knowledge’ about this. Knowledge, or rather knowing, is a process of learning about something and this process should never stop. And so, what this means, how it would be achieved and what its implications are is what I am talking about throughout the pages of and posts on this blog.
